When God Says, “No”
You know I’ve struggled with this one for some time. You see to know me is to understand that I’m the type of person that is very resolute in his decisions and I usually have a strong feeling of what ‘s “right” for me. However there have been times when I was so sure and so wrong that it’s almost comical.
Interestingly enough when I look back at those times it was always a sign or message around me that specifically told me God was saying, “no”. If it wasn’t a sermon at church it was a friend or family member providing the confirmation on the question I presented in prayer. Interestingly enough however at times I still chose to not listen. Well we have to remember obedience is better than sacrifice, stress, or the lack of peace that can come from making the wrong decision or the one outside of what God wants for you.
Most of the time that no is a setup for a greater “yes” we just have to exhibit the virtue of patience. I know it’s hard to practice but just think about Job 8:7 (KJV) which says: “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.”
So be honest with yourself. Listen to God when he tells you, “No” about that job, relationship, or opportunity because although it may look great it’s it not right for you… It’s not right for you! In the end just trust what’s coming is better than what’s right in front of you… Believe me that’s a personal testimony I’ve seen first hand.
Peace and Stay Blessed…
